FORGED SIGNATURES & HANDWRITING ANALYSIS
- Forged signatures and handwriting are produced by various methods and it is the job of the handwriting expert to identify the presence of forgery and possibly identify the method used to create it.
- We use our signature as our individual mark of certification and agreement on a multitude of documents in our daily
lives. Signatures are found and are required on many types documents that have important personal, professional, financial
consequences such as:
- Last Will and Testament and other Probate documents
- Personal/Business Checks
- Property Lease/Agreement
- Applications
- Insurance Forms
- Contracts
Every signature and handwriting case submitted to ALR Forensics for analysis is subject to a strict methodology and
procedure that focuses on the entire document, not just what is written.
The result of a scientific handwriting examination/comparison may:
- Identify someone as the writer of the questioned signature/writing.
- Eliminate someone as the writer of the questioned signature/writing
- Determine if the signature/writing is a forgery.
- Determine the method of forgery utilized.
- Determine that the document is indeed genuine.
The result of a scientific handwriting examination/comparison DOES NOT:
- Determine handedness of the writer
- Determine the gender of the writer
- Predict character traits
